So I just learned that I shouldn't expect LOC for at least another 1.5-2.5 months. Not sure why my wait is so different from everyone elses, but it is what it is. I probably won't post for awhile...I need a mental break from all of this.
Uuuughh...i know exactly how you feel. But 1.5-2.5 more months?? I bet not. My 100 day wait was WAY long and you are only about a month away from that. It is hard when you hear others who get news way quicker. I had to daily choose to make my heart believe what my mind knows about God. He has had a plan for Tyson and your family since before Tyson was born. God is never late. I know, hard to feel that in times like this though. julia.
We're 52 days in and still waiting on PA, so I understand how you feel. We're running on a treadmill, getting no where fast and wondering why we can't hop off and race forward with everyone else. I take comfort in knowing that God is in control of the timing. It will happen at the best possible moment for our waiting daughter and for your beautiful son. At the moment we see only a small part of the picture. God sees it all and plans accordingly. That doesn't make the wait any easier, though.
The bright pink province on the eastern coast is where Tyson is from.
Our Adoption Timeline
3/21/08: Met with Adoption Agency and met our home study service provider. Began the "paper chase" for nsn baby girl.
3/26/08: Ordered Passports; First Home Study Visit
4/21/08: Finished International Adoption Classes (a new Hague requirement) Decided to look into special needs adoptions after learning about special needs adoptions.
May 08: Second Homestudy Visit. Found out we needed child abuse clearances from when Dan was in the Military. Huh? What? From Iraq, Somalia, and Saudi Arabia? Also changed Home Study to say girl OR boy.
Summer 08....waited for clearances and just became numb to the whole process, thinking it would never happen.
Mid Aug. 08: Call from Home Study social worker. It had been determined that combat situations didn't require child abuse clearances. (Don't get me started.)
Mid Aug. 08: Home Study Complete!
Aug. 27 08: I-8o0A received at NBC/USCIS
Sept 6 08: Sent final pictures and paperwork for special needs
Sept 11 08: Officially decided to adopt a child with special needs, and it will most likely be a boy! We were open to either one.
9/18/08: Fingerprint appointment
9/19/08: LOI for our boy!
12/12/08: 104 days later, I-800a was approved!
1/5/09: DTC--Dossier to China!
1/21/09: LID (Log In Date) The wait for LOC begins!
4/30/09: CCAA make an announcement regarding Swine Flu.
5/26/09: LOC! Day 126
5/27/09: LOC mailed to CCAA in Beijing; I-800 mailed to NBC/Hague. (National Benefits Center/USCIS)
6/10/09: I-800 Approval (Hague for Tyson's Visa)
6/15/09: Paperwork arrives at National Visa Center (NVC)
6/19/09: NVC Cable to US Consulate in Guangzhou
6/30/09 (est): Article 5 from US Consulate--on to CCAA!
Thousands of starfish washed ashore. A little girl began throwing them in the water so they would not die. "Don't bother, dear," her mother said. "It won't make a difference." The girl stopped for a moment and looked at the starfish in her hand. "It will make a difference to this one."
You never know, though. If we learned anything during this journey it's that nothing with respect to adoption from China is certain.
ReplyDeleteWe will continue to pray things happen quickly for you.
