Milestones!

The last two weeks have been nothing short of a blur. Here's a recap:

Tyson finished his first T-ball season. Way to go buddy!

After FOUR YEARS of Preschool, Tyson finished! When he was 2 he qualified for special services in gross motor skills, adaptive skills, and speech. He spent a year in 0-3, a year in a 3 year old program, and a two years in the 4 year old program. Having him wait an extra year for kindergarten was the BEST decision we could have made for him. He is center of the back row at his preschool celebration.

We also "double-dipped" him in preschool this year. He has spent three years at his daycare, and this year we had him also do their preschool program in the morning, in addition to his regular preschool in the afternoon. I was impressed with how much he learned! He LOVED Teacher Katie so much! Here are pictures from this graduation, which I was not able to attend because I had to be at my class's moving up ceremony, which included my daughter!

Anyway, he also loves to sing! Here he is singing "Head Shoulders..." in French. Since we have a high Spanish-speaking population, they decided to teach some French phrases, songs, counting, etc...It's been fun to listen to him!

Then he had the day he's been waiting for: HIS BIRTHDAY! He had his first birthday party, complete with friends. We did an Army theme, and Dan made a scavenger hunt. Of course, it rained, so we didn't get to finish it out, but the little guys had a blast! Here they are getting their first set of directions.

One of the missions was to find 8 potato bugs!

He got a new bike for his birthday!

Also, Kacie's league fastpitch season ended (7 league games plus a tournament in a matter of 12 days...it was a lot!). We still have two more weekends of tournaments.

Kacie completed sixth grade, and she got awards for being ASB President, a citizenship award voted on by her class (wow!), and of her moving up certificate. I stepped out of teacher mode for a second to get a picture with my girl!

And in the midst of all this, my Aunt passed away. I'm going to miss her so much. Here are the kids dressed for the memorial service, which was on Tyson's birthday. The kids also got their birthday presents from grandma and papa that day.

Since Kacie's birthday is the 19th and Ty's is the 22nd, we did cake for both of them together. They didn't mind at all. Ty had his friends here, and Kacie had 4 friends spend the night. It was GREAT and my kids are happy campers.

School ended on June 20th. That in itself is busy enough. Tack on all this, and you have one CRAZY MAMA! But it's now all done, and I'm breathing much easier. I am so proud of the people my kids are becoming. Kacie will be in 7th grade and Tyson in Elementary school. Bring it on! We are ready!

Thanks for reading, and we have LOTS of summer adventures planned, so come back to visit my blog as I post more! And FYI...Tyson's next big cleft appointment is July 15th. Hoping all goes well and we get our "next steps" figured out.
